Chance The Rapper created quite the wave with 2016 offering ‘Coloring Book’ and he’s looking to paint an even more eclectic project with the help of Kanye West.
The G.O.O.D Music captain has taken the helm of albums from the likes of Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, and Kid Cudi and is now on-board for Chance’s hotly anticipated LP.
Recently, it was revealed that the set – like Ye’s other productions of late – will be comprised of 7-songs.
Now, Chance is opening up about their collaborative process; a process he says will be rooted in their home city of Chicago.
Speaking on the Windy City Live show, the newly engaged Hip-Hop star said revealed that the as yet untitled set will be “very very personal” and that he and Ye are to start work on it later this month. He went on to say:
“Kanye is like my first image of a free black man in the industry; and I’ve just always loved him for that. [I ]loved his music, loved his creativity, loved his voice, and loved his fearless nature. Working under him…working with him on his albums is crazy. But having him tell me that he wants to produce my album and come to Chicago and work with me is like…wow.”
There’s no denying Kanye’s genius, but here’s hoping Chance avoids the unmitigated mess that was the roll-out of each of the albums he exec produced this summer.
