Kim Kardashian and Kanye West spent time with a special guest after a Los Angeles stop on his Saint Pablo tour on Wednesday night: Cameron Sterling, the eldest son of Alton Sterling, the father of five who was shot and killed by police officers outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this past July.
Kardashian West has been keeping a very low profile since her traumatizing robbery in Paris, but in a rare social media post, she and West posed with Sterling, who was celebrating his 16th birthday at the Yeezy concert.
A Sterling family attorney shared the shot on Twitter. “Shoutout to [Kanye West] & [Kim Kardashian] for showing 16th bday love last night to my client #CameronSterling, eldest son of #AltonSterling,” attorney Justin Bamberg tweeted.
Both Kardashian West and West have voiced their support of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. After Sterling was killed, West shared a link to the disturbing video footage of Sterling being tackled and shot at close range on Twitter. And Kardashian West wrote an emotional post on her personal blog.
“I want my children to grow up knowing that their lives matter,” Kardashian West wrote. “I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police, or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust—the people who “protect and serve’—may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin.”
