Members of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc, Lambda Psi Chapter celebrated their line’s 20th anniversary in DELTAland this summer with a trip to Napa Valley, California. They spent a magical 4 days reconnecting, sharing memories and rejuvenating in wine country.
The Spring 1998 line of Lambda Psi, The Resurrection, consists of 26 dynamic young women who made their mark on the campus of University of Florida and continue to make their mark on the world. After graduation, these ladies have come to be attorneys, doctors, pharmacists, accountants, professors, authors, executives of Fortune 100 & 500 companies, counselors, educators, entrepreneurs, CEOs, wives and mothers. They continue to give back to their communities and stay true to the tenets of their beloved sorority.
While in Napa, the ladies lodged in a luxurious home tucked away in an oasis. Their first night was spent with a delicious meal prepared by Oakland-based Chefs, @SSOKitchen and @PhiestyFoods.
At the urging of one soror, they began a session answering the question, “What have I been doing for 20 years?” This allowed each soror, over the next four days, to share their triumphs, joys and obstacles they have encountered since they crossed the burning sands. They continued the extended weekend with a wine tour that included visits to the Black-owned Brown Estate Winery and Sterling Vineyards.
They took in the picturesque views of Napa Valley while enjoying an exquisite lunch at Michelin Star restaurant, Auberge du Soleil. Outside of a photo shoot with Oakland-based photographer @AdamTurner, the ladies spent the remainder of their time at the pool, sharing laughs, wine and stories.
“Our trip could not have been more perfect. It was really a retreat that allowed us to enjoy each others company in a beautiful setting, away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. We cannot wait to reconnect again,” says one soror.
The ladies are looking forward to reunite during Lambda Psi’s 45th Anniversary in 2019 in Gainesville, Florida. Until then, they will continue to hold on to the memories of their time in Napa and make new memories together.
