According to Althea, she was allegedly scammed by a woman she identified as Dr. Theresa Bowe. Althea says Bowe manipulated her into selling her homes and pushed her into bankruptcy, which caused her to spiral mentally and eventually check herself into a hospital to get help. That’s a heavy situation to be in, honestly.
Althea alleges that during that time Benzino used the situation to keep their son Zino away from her and attempt to gain custody. She also claims his motivation was tied to avoiding a reported $48,698.77 in outstanding child support. That’s some messed up stuff right there.
The situation between the former couple had already escalated earlier this year. In February, Althea went to check on Zino with her friend Diamond of Crime Mob. Things were already tense, and it just kept getting worse.
After that encounter, Benzino claimed Althea attempted to illegally take their son and even accused Diamond of hitting him with her car during the incident. The drama just kept escalating from there.
Things reached another boiling point on March 13 when Althea went to pick Zino up from the school bus. According to Althea, Benzino showed up and grabbed Zino from her while yelling and cursing before taking the child away again. Can you imagine just trying to pick up your kid and this happens?
This time, however, Althea had police already waiting nearby. Smart move on her part.
Authorities reportedly spent four hours sorting out the situation as Benzino allegedly insisted he had custody of Zino. After reviewing the situation, officers ultimately returned Zino to Althea. Justice was served that day.
The situation didn’t end there. Police reportedly arrested Benzino at the scene after he continued yelling and causing a disturbance while officers tried to resolve the custody dispute. He got booked that day, that’s for sure.
The incident marks the latest chapter in the long-running drama between the former couple, who have had a complicated relationship for years. These two have been going through it for minute now.
For now, Althea says the most important thing is being reunited with her son after what she describes as one of the most difficult periods of her life. We’re just glad she’s okay and her son is back home where he should be.
