Atlanta Police Attribute Teen Murders to Lil Baby, Sparking Gang Violence

The Atlanta Police Department is holding rapper Lil Baby responsible for actions that allegedly led to the murders of two teenagers last summer, according to WSB-TV. During a press conference on Wednesday (Feb. 26), the police announced the arrest of seven individuals connected to the killings of 13-year-olds Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman.

Major Ralph Woolfolk stated that the shootings were part of an ongoing gang war that began with a shooting at Lil Baby’s music video shoot in May 2024, where three people were injured. “The cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go into a rival gang stronghold in a place he knew he should not have been,” Woolfolk said, confirming he was referring to Lil Baby.

Authorities explained that the shooting at the music video shoot sparked a series of retaliatory incidents, with the murders of Davis and Freeman being a direct result of a rival gang calling for the hit from prison.

“This team will work relentlessly to hold you accountable,” Woolfolk added, directing his comments toward Lil Baby. The rapper’s team and attorney have not yet responded to the allegations, with XXL reaching out for a statement.

The case has brought attention to the ongoing issue of gang violence and its tragic consequences for young lives.
