A harrowing video is spreading across social media showing students at Brown University hiding in a classroom as an active shooter moved through campus on Saturday. Two people were killed and nine others were critically injured. Police said the gunman was still at large as of Monday.

Providence Mayor Brett Smiley confirmed the injuries during a press briefing. He said students were in stable to critical condition, with one hurt by bullet fragments. All victims were identified as Brown students. President Donald Trump posted that he had been briefed and later updated his comments after police corrected earlier statements. He spoke again upon arriving at the White House, calling the situation terrible and urging prayers. The shooting at Brown University has shaken families and raised new questions about safety on campus.

Police initially detained 24-year-old Benjamin Erickson as a person of interest but released him. A viral video filmed by a student shows classmates crouched on a library floor while loud banging echoes from outside. Officers eventually enter the room, guiding students out with their hands raised and moving them to safety as the gunman remained unaccounted for.

Investigators later shared new surveillance footage of the suspect and announced a fifty-thousand-dollar reward as the manhunt continues. The community is still searching for answers while students process the fear of what they experienced. Watch the Video
