Cardi B</a
made headlines when she announced that she is expecting her first child, her
first with her boyfriend Stefon Diggs.
The femcee was greeted with congratulations after sharing the news. Yet the
timing of the announcement – a day after she revealed the ‘Little Miss Drama
Tour’ – left some fans scratching their heads. Would Cardi B be stage-ready
come the start of the 30-date trek?
The superstar has taken to social media to share her take.
In a defiant video, Cardi said:
“I want to let you know what headspace I’m in. I want this sht real fcking
bad. I want this sht real bad like I’m on the third floor in the Bronx and I
need to get the hell on out. I want this sht like it’s 2016. Nothing and no
one is stopping me.”
She continued:
“This is the hard part for me. I’ve been waking up at 6 am and going to bed
at 2 am. I been overseas, I did fashion shows, I did music videos, I been
doing magazine covers, I have done so much. After this album run, it’s
straight to exercise, it’s straight to dance class. When the baby comes out,
my body will be loose, and it’s straight rehearsal with all my dancers, I’m
not playing. I owe this to myself, and I owe this to my fans that have been
waiting for such a long time. I owe this to them. I owe this album to y’all,
I owe this tour to y’all. It has to be the best of the best.”
Concluding, Cardi quipped:
“I’m happy, my man is happy, I am very happy for this chapter of life.”
Cardi’s firm stance comes just days before the release of her long-awaited
sophomore album, ‘Am I The Drama?’
