Erika Kirk, widow of the late conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, is opening up about her deeply personal feelings following his tragic assassination. She revealed a poignant wish – to have been pregnant at the time – and shared her powerful perspective on not letting anger consume her.

For those who don’t know, Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10 in Orem, Utah, during a public speaking event for his Turning Point USA organization. Police later identified 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the alleged gunman, who reportedly confessed to his father. Robinson now faces charges including aggravated murder, with prosecutors seeking the death penalty.

Charlie Kirk Assassination And Gunman Identified And Charged

The tragic incident unfolded on September 10 in Orem, Utah, when Charlie, a 31-year-old controversial Conservative commentator, was fatally shot in the neck. This happened during a public speaking engagement at Utah Valley University for his Turning Point USA company.

Just two days later, on September 12, police confirmed Charlie’s gunman was in custody. They identified 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the shooter, noting that authorities claimed Robinson confessed to his father, who then turned him in. Alleged text messages between Robinson and his roommate also suggested he was not a fan of Charlie’s views.

Robinson now faces serious charges, including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray announced in September that prosecutors would be seeking the death penalty for Robinson.

Charlie Kirk’s Widow Erika Kirk Vows To Continue His Legacy While Taking Over Turning Point USA

In the wake of Charlie’s assassination, his widow Erika stepped forward, taking the helm of his Turning Point USA company. She promised to carry on his mission and legacy. Soon after his tragic death, she made a public vow to continue his work. During a livestream, she shared her gratitude with supporters and gave a special shout-out to President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance for their love and support.

Erika also shared that both Trump and Vance helped escort Charlie’s body back home from Utah to Arizona. She used her address to thank Charlie’s dedicated fanbase, emphasizing how much he cherished connecting with them at TPUSA events.

Addressing those accused of plotting her husband’s death, Erika was clear: his impact and vision would not fade. She confirmed that Charlie’s planned Turning Point USA campus tours and his radio show would indeed move forward.

During her press conference, Erika made an incredibly powerful statement, declaring her forgiveness for the man accused of killing her husband. With her voice breaking and tears flowing, she stated, “That man, that young man … I forgive him.” She explained that this act of forgiveness was rooted not only in her faith but also in her late husband’s core values. She elaborated:

“I forgive him because it was what Christ did and is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”

Charlie Kirk’s Widow Erika Kirk Admits She Wished She Was Pregnant After His Tragic Assassination, Says She Doesn’t Let Anger Consume Her

On Monday, November 24, Erika Kirk appeared on SiriusXM’s ‘The Megyn Kelly Show.’ During her sit-down with host Megyn Kelly, Erika shared her poignant wish to have been pregnant after Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Megyn Kelly mentioned that Erika, who shares two children with Charlie, had privately told her they hoped for more. Erika confirmed this, saying:

“We wanted to have four. And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered. I was like, ‘Oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.’

So, now when I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please, don’t put it off. Especially if you’re a young woman. Don’t put it off. You can always have a career. You can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children. And they grow so fast and so quickly. But, I was praying—both of us were. We were really excited to just expand our family.”

Later in the interview, Megyn Kelly asked Erika Kirk if she felt any anger towards God or her husband’s murderer. Kelly confessed, “I know you don’t ever feel angry against God, but I kind of do. How do you make sense of that? And do you have any anger when you think about it? Not towards the Lord, but in general?” Erika’s response was thoughtful:

“I mean, I understand. The enemy would love for me to be angry. He would love it. Because it would distract me from building what Charlie entrusted to me. Raising our babies. Turning Point. Being there for the team. Being there for what the future holds. And if I had any amount of anger in my heart and spirit, the Lord would not be able to use me. And every single day, just how Charlie did, stood on stage, he would say, ‘Here I am, Lord use me.’ And if I had that anger in my heart, that foothold from the enemy, he wouldn’t be able to.”

Kelly then pressed Erika on her ability to forgive her late husband’s murderer and avoid holding ill will. She asked directly:

“I know at Charlie’s memorial, right across the way here, there was that extraordinary moment where you forgave his accused killer. And I mean, I looked and I said, ‘That’s the most powerful, strongest thing I’ve ever seen anybody do in my life.’

And then somebody helped me understand—because I thought I could never do it. And somebody said to me, ‘Forgiveness is an action, not an emotion.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, that’s getting me closer to feeling like I could do it.’ If I don’t actually have to feel loving in my heart toward the person. But I wonder: How do you—if you could say something to him, if you say something to his parents, what would it be? Would it be anger? Would it be sympathy? What would it be?”

Erika took a moment before slowly replying:

“That’s a good question. It wouldn’t be sympathy. It wouldn’t be anger. How do you put this? Anything that I could ever wish upon him or that family would pale in comparison of the justice of God. And so I would look at them almost like, ‘I’m so glad I’m not you.’”
