Okay, y’all. Chris Brown apparently had some thoughts Tuesday night, and he let ’em fly. It seems like he was aiming at former collaborator Kevin McCall after that viral interview. You know, the one where McCall got real about struggling and needing his EBT card.
McCall’s appearance on the Back On Figg podcast hit different. He was vulnerable, admitting some financial woes, and even said he’s “on EBT” β even after co-writing major hits for Breezy like “Deuces” and “Strip.” Talk about a moment.
“Why the f*ck I got an EBT card?” McCall asked, holding the card up. Then he called out Chris directly, like, “Can I get $25K for the four songs I owe you?” Whew, the audacity!
That clip spread like wildfire, sparking all kinds of reactions, including one from Breezy himself.
Shortly after, Chris Brown posted an Instagram Story that read as a sharp but subtle clap-back.
“Remember this: you canβt walk across a burnt bridge. And you know whatβs funnier than a troll? A BROKE one.β Ouch.
While Chris didn’t name McCall, the timing and the tone? It was pretty clear who he was talking about.
These two got a long and complicated history together. Back in the early 2010s, McCall was part of Chris Brown’s inner circle, helping write those hits that put Breezy back on top. But things went south between 2014 and 2016 over royalties and writing credits. You know how that goes in the industry.
Now, fans are divided. Some think Chris is being cold toward someone clearly down on their luck. Others are saying McCall messed up his own chances years ago. What do you think?
Either way, this is just another chapter in one of R&B’s most talked-about fallouts. Drama, drama, drama!
