British rapper and actor Ghetts has been sentenced to 12 years in prison following a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in London in October 2025.

Ghetts, whose real name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, pleaded guilty to causing the death of Tubin Tamang through dangerous driving. Tamang, a college student from Nepal, died from injuries sustained after being struck by Clarke-Samuel’s vehicle.

Authorities said surveillance footage captured Clarke-Samuel driving dangerously before the crash, including what prosecutors described as “executing dangerous manoeuvres” and colliding with another vehicle prior to the fatal incident.

Prosecutors told the court that Tamang was hit at a speed believed to be greater than 60 miles per hour. Clarke-Samuel continued driving after the crash and returned home. He was arrested the following day. Tamang died two days later from her injuries.

Officials also stated that Clarke-Samuel had been drinking before getting behind the wheel.

“Justin Clarke-Samuel knew he was in no fit state to drive and there was clear evidence of his excessive speed and disregard for road users,” said Crown Prosecution Service representative Shani Taggart.

Ghetts is known for his music career, particularly UK Grime, and for appearing in the Netflix series Supacell.
