It all went down on Saturday, January 10th, when DHS hit up X (formerly Twitter) with a three-and-a-half-minute video. This clip highlights the moments before Renee Nicole Good’s tragic encounter with ICE. The department’s caption for the post didn’t mince words, stating:
“The media continues to fail the American people in their reporting on the events in Minneapolis. New evidence shows that the anti-ICE agitator was STALKING and IMPEDING a law enforcement operation over the course of the morning. The evidence speaks for itself. The legacy media has lost the trust of the American people.”
DHS didn’t stop there. They also dropped a stern warning: “Reminder: if you lay a finger on a federal officer or agent, you will face the full extent of the law.” By Sunday, January 11th, they were still reposting the video of Good in her car, directly challenging a video from Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

Mayor Frey’s clip came from his Sunday interview on NBC’s ‘Meet The Press.’ During that sit-down, Frey urged the federal government to let state agencies step in and investigate Good’s shooting. His reasoning? A “deep mistrust” of federal agencies currently rocking Minnesota.
He also directly addressed the claims from President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, who alleged that Good, 37, intentionally tried to run over ICE agents with her car. Mayor Frey was clear: she was “just trying to leave the scene.” He stated, “The ICE agent was not run over, as Trump stated. You had a person that was definitively trying to just get out of there. They were trying to leave the scene.”

Not one to back down, DHS quickly responded to Mayor Frey. They reposted their three-and-a-half-minute video yet again, writing, “Let’s check the tape. For more than 3 minutes the anti-ICE agitator impeded a law enforcement operation with her vehicle.”
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also weighed in, openly criticizing Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. In a Sunday interview on CNN’s ‘State of the Union,’ Noem asserted that Good “weaponized” her vehicle to “attack the law enforcement officer” who tragically shot her. She declared, “You don’t get to change the facts because you don’t like them. What happened in Minneapolis was an act of domestic terrorism.”
She further captioned her post, “Acts of domestic terrorism like this should be condemned by every politician and elected official. It shouldn’t be hard or remotely controversial.”
