Just this past Monday, DHS dropped some major news. They’re sweetening the deal for undocumented migrants, offering more cash to those willing to voluntarily leave the United States. The incentive is jumping from $1,000 to a cool $3,000 for anyone who agrees to self-deport by the end of 2025. This kind of aggressive push for voluntary departures has been a key focus for leaders, including Donald Trump, who often champion strict immigration policies.
DHS didn’t mince words when they shared the announcement directly on X. Their message left zero room for interpretation: “$3,000 TO LEAVE NOW. In addition to a free flight home, illegal aliens can sign up to self-deport through the CBP Home app by the end of the year to receive a $3,000 stipend once they return. If you do not self-deport, we will find you, we will arrest you, and you will never be able to return to the United States.”
Now, this boosted offer isn’t forever, y’all. According to the department, it’s a temporary “holiday push” aimed at getting folks to self-deport before the year wraps up. Think of it as a limited-time special.
But wait, there’s more to this deal than just cash and a free ride home. DHS says participants using the CBP Home app might also catch a break on certain civil fines or penalties. You know, those fees linked to not leaving the country when they were supposed to. It’s an added layer of relief to encourage compliance.
This whole situation highlights just how much immigration enforcement is front and center for the powers that be. The message from DHS is painfully clear: either take the money and leave now, or face arrest and potentially never be allowed back into the United States. Whether this bigger payout actually gets a large number of people to participate remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure—the warning is blunt and unmistakable.
