Yesterday marked the end of an era when the Heavy Hitter himself was abruptly let go from the iconic NYC station. Enuff says it came completely out of left field; no warnings, no hints… just a blindside straight to the soul.
The news broke right after Funk Flex had everyone buzzing with a cryptic announcement that seemed like retirement—but was actually just a change in time slots. And word on the street is, that change came at Enuff’s expense. Ouch.
Enuff confessed it was an emotional goodbye, even admitting to shedding a few tears as his wife and fellow DJs—Drewski, E-Stylez, and Lady S—rallied around him. DJ Camilo also saw his airtime slashed to just one hour, in what many are calling a major shakeup at Hot 97.
While Enuff isn’t waving around any official documents, he says deep down he *knows* Flex was pulling strings behind the scenes, allegedly throwing a fit to secure his prime spot. The two haven’t spoken since the firing, and Enuff plans to let the dust settle (while enjoying his Puerto Rican getaway) before reaching out—because, in his words, he’s “the bigger man.”
It’s wild to think that even though Flex is the one who gave Enuff his start at the station, their next conversation might be more tense than nostalgic. 👀
Now, all eyes are glued to Funk Flex’s new show next week…and the streets are waiting to see if he’ll address the elephant in the room. Will he speak on it? We’re definitely tuning in.
