Vice President JD Vance is still hyping up Nicki Minaj. He’s been showering her with praise both online and onstage, especially after her recent dive into the political arena.
The rap queen recently made a surprise splash at AmericaFest in Phoenix, hosted by Turning Point USA. While she touched on a bunch of topics, one comment from Nicki Minaj really seemed to strike a chord with Vance. He even took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her “profound” words: “Just because I want little black girls to think they’re beautiful doesn’t mean I need to put down little girls with blonde hair and blue eyes.”
Vance went on to say that we’ve all been caught in “zero sum thinking” lately, where powerful folks try to pit us against each other. He believes “Nicki Minaj rejects that. We all should.” It’s a call for unity, no matter your background.
During her Amfest appearance, Minaj also gave props to both the president and vice president. She called the administration “full of people with heart and soul,” stating, “I love both of them.” She even described them as “strong role models” and said they have an “uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.”
For some, Minaj’s appearance at a conservative conference felt out of left field. But for others, it tracks perfectly with her recent public comments. The rap icon has been increasingly open about her political leanings and her support for Republicans over the past few weeks.
Just last week, she even went after California Governor Gavin Newsom, coining the nickname “Newscum” and reiterating her support for JD Vance. She’s not holding back.

So, why is Nicki speaking up now?
According to Minaj herself, she’s simply “grown tired of being pushed around.” She also feels that expressing different ideas has become unnecessarily controversial because “people are no longer using their minds.”
Love her or not, one thing is undeniable: Nicki Minaj is speaking her truth, exactly as she sees it. And JD Vance? He’s more than ready to cheer her on.
