A judge is reportedly contemplating reducing T.I. and Tiny Harris‘ $71 million payout following their legal win against MGA Entertainment. As BlkCosmo previously reported, the company was accused of infringing on the styles of the OMG Girlz with their creation of the “L.O.L. Surprise! OMG” doll line.

More Details On A Judge Reportedly Contemplating Reducing T.I. & Tiny Harris’ $71M Win

On Monday, January 6, legal reporter Meghan Cuniff took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update on T.I. & Tiny Harris’ cause against MGA. Furthermore, Cuniff posted a screenshot of a document featuring a tentative order “regarding post-trial equitable issues.”

“A jury ordered toymaker MGA pay T.I. and Tiny $71.4 million for LOL Surprise! Dolls that infringe the trade dress of @Zonnique‘s OMG Girlz. Now a judge wants to axe $53.6 million in punitives, cutting verdict to $17.8 million, because there isn’t enough evidence of bad faith,” Cuniff wrote the caption of her tweet.

In a subsequent update from Cuniff, she explained that the judge has not finalized their ruling and could “change his mind.”

More Details On T.I. & Tiny Harris’ Case Against MGA Entertainment

As BlkCosmo previously reported, T.I. and Tiny Harris’ legal battles against MGA Entertainment have been ongoing for years. Amid that time, the couple’s case was reportedly granted a mistrial, a favor ruled to MGA, and a retrial.

Most recently, the case’s retrial led to T.I. and Tiny winning over MGA and being ruled to receive over $71 million in punitive and real damages for copyright and intellectual property infringement. Subsequently, Harris spoke out after her and her husband’s major victory.

At this time, neither T.I. nor Tiny Harris have reacted to the tentative update in their case.
