Honey, let’s talk about it! Former Vice President Kamala Harris is stepping into the spotlight, addressing the super hot topic everyone’s buzzing about: the Jeffrey Epstein files. These documents are set to drop on Friday, December 19th. She’s spilling the tea on why the Joe Biden administration held back on releasing them, and whether she truly believes the current Donald Trump administration will give us the full truth, no redactions.
Now, for some context. Back in November, Congress actually passed a bill demanding the Trump administration release more information from their investigations into Epstein, that late financier and convicted sex offender. They had 30 days to do it. The House passed this ‘Epstein Files Transparency Act’ with a huge majority, 427-1, and the Senate was unanimous! President Trump signed it into law on November 19th. So, the pressure is on! What will our good sis Kamala Harris say about what we can expect to see?
That Friday, December 19th, is the big day. The 30-day clock runs out, and the Trump administration is supposed to release the rest of those Epstein files. The only things they can legally hold back or redact are classified documents, info that identifies victims, or anything that might mess with an ongoing federal investigation. We’re all watching to see what actually gets revealed.
Kamala Harris On Why Biden Didn’t Release Epstein Files & If Trump Will Give Us The Whole Truth
During a recent sit-down on Jimmy Kimmel Live on December 17th, our former VP Kamala Harris chopped it up with host Jimmy Kimmel. They dived deep into the Epstein files, discussing their weight during her time in the Biden administration and now under Trump. Kimmel hit her with the direct question, “The Epstein files are supposed to be released on Friday. Do you believe we will see the entirety of those files?”
She didn’t hold back. Harris stated, “What he has done to treat the Department of Justice as his personal law firm is criminal in proportion to what it’s supposed to be… they’re supposed to operate without favor or fear.” She added, “I don’t know that they are going to do what they’re saying they’re going to do, which is release all of the documents that the American people have a right to see. But, I will commend Republicans in Congress, those who have stood up to say, ‘Release the files.’”
Kimmel pressed on, asking the question many folks have been wondering: “I’m sure people ask you about it… Why didn’t the Biden administration release those files? Was that something they felt would look bad while running against this guy? Why didn’t they come during your administration?”
Harris’s response shed light on their approach: “To give you an answer that will not satisfy your curiosity, I will tell you, we—perhaps to our damage—but we strongly, and rightly, believed that there should be an absolute separation between what we wanted as an administration and what the Department of Justice did.” She emphasized, “The Justice Department would make its decisions independent of any political or personal vendetta or concern we may have and that’s the way it worked.”
