Kanye West‘s love for music has been reignited thanks to his eldest daughter, North West.
Kanye West Shares He’s Helping His Daughter North With Her Debut Album
According to West, North has helped him create the production for BULLY, the album following VULTURES 1 and VULTURES 2. On Monday (Jan. 20), the Hip-Hop icon teased a recording session for the upcoming album on Instagram and shared a heartfelt message about how North inspired him.
“This little girl made me love music again,” he captioned the post. “She asked me to make beats for her. I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for album and chopped every beat with my bare hand for BULLY.”
West also shared behind-the-scenes footage of North in the studio, highlighting her growing passion for making music.
In one video, the 11-year-old is seen walking up to an audio setup with longtime West collaborator Tony Williams. In another, she stands in front of a screen and microphone while a vocal loop plays in the background. The Yeezy creator could also be heard directing North to “play it,” to which North hits a key on the keyboard.
From the post, fans speculate that West’s new album, which could be North West’s debut, will be titled Bully. The father of four released his last album, Donda, in 2021. The album received massive commercial success and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. It was West’s 10th chart-topper on the Billboard 200, and he became one of the only seven artists in the chart’s history to achieve such massive hits.
The album also reached number one on various other charts, including the US Top Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums charts. It became the rapper’s second album to top the two charts. Additionally, the album also reached number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
While West has not released any new album since Donda under his name, he worked on multiple musical projects between 2021 and 2024. The rapper produced Vultures 1, the debut studio album of Hip-hop supergroup ¥$. The album also featured West’s daughter, North, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Nipsey Hussle, Quavo, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and others.
“This is family business,” wrote one fan on Instagram, as another commented “I love how ye teach his kids and let them do their own songs. He is an amazing father.” A third person remarked, “IS THAT NORTH PRODUCING OMG WERE SO BACK.”
The father-daughter duo has collaborated before, with North making a name for herself in 2024 with her VULTURES 1 track “TALKING.” She also appeared alongside her sister, Chicago West, and Yuno Miles on the single “BOMB,” which was billed as a Ye song, but showcased the voices of his children.
Ye dropped what many believe to be the cover art for BULLY on Oct. 23, 2024, showing a black-and-white image of someone wearing a titanium grill, similar to Ye’s. The image was created by Japanese photographer Daidō Moriyama.
