Apparently, after a South Carolina player, Nyck Harbor, made a touchdown, he was walking into the tunnel with his teammates when the trooper got a little physical. Let’s just say folks weren’t happy about it, especially after seeing the videos circulating online.
It all went down Saturday. Nyck Harbor of South Carolina, scored big, but seemed to injure his hamstring. As he and his teammates headed to the tunnel, a trooper allegedly shoved Harbor and another player, Oscar Adaway III.
The Texas A&M Police Department addressed the situation by stating the trooper was relieved of his game day assignment. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) also chimed in, mentioning an investigation.
Of course, the internet had plenty to say.
LeBron James didn’t hold back, calling for the trooper to be suspended.
Stephen A. Smith also weighed in, calling the trooper’s actions an “automatic suspension,” saying the trooper “shouldn’t even be allowed to cover the games anymore.”
Ryan Clark hopped on X as well stating, “What happened today at Texas A&M was unacceptable. No young man should face that level of aggression outside of the field of play. Especially, not from someone there to protect. This officer had the audacity to do this in front of millions. What does he do when no one’s watching? It didn’t escalate today, but that doesn’t mean it never has or will.”
