Let’s rewind a bit. Back on April 6, 2009, Young Money dropped the visual for their track “Every Girl.” The crew included heavyweights like Lil Wayne, Drake, Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda, and, of course, Mack Maine. It was on the fifth verse where Mack Maine got a little too explicit, listing women he, um, ‘desired,’ and Miley Cyrus, who was just 16 at the time, made the cut. Mack Maine was 26. He famously rhymed, “In about three years, holla at me, Miley Cyrus. I don’t discriminate, no, not at all.” This specific lyric, among others, has been a talking point for years, and it’s something that has seemingly impacted Reginae Carter‘s journey, even as she tries to forge her own path. His full verse was:
“Sanaa Lathan, Meagan Good
Angelina Jolie, ha, D. Woods
For free suites, I’d give Paris Hilton all-nighters
In about three years, holla at me, Miley Cyrus
I don’t discriminate, no, not at all
Kit-Kat a midget – if that ass soft, I break her off
I exchange V-cards with the retards
And get behind the Christian like Dior ’cause he are
Mack Mizzle, baby
‘Cause he are Mack Mizzle, baby.”
Lil Wayne’s Daughter Reginae Carter Says Mack Maine’s Lyric About A Young Miley Cyrus Hurt Her Career
It’s no secret Mack Maine’s verse has been controversial for years. But now, we’re realizing the ripple effect extended even to his “niece,” Reginae Carter. During a recent ‘Heir Time’ episode on December 11, Reginae sat down with none other than Fat Joe’s daughter, Azzy Milan. The conversation turned to the challenges of being a celeb kid, with Reginae asking Azzy if she ever felt pigeonholed by her father’s fame. When pressed for an example, Reginae dropped the bombshell: Mack Maine’s infamous Miley Cyrus lyric allegedly blocked her from a Disney Channel gig. She explained, “Because of who my dad is, they’re going to put [things] on me. Even with the Disney channel, my uncle had a song that said, ‘In about three years, holler at me Miley Cyrus.’” After a shared laugh, both Reginae and Azzy agreed – “Disney don’t play.” And they’re right!
Mack Maine’s Handful of Tweets About Miley Cyrus, Her Age, And Beauty
But the “Every Girl” lyric wasn’t a one-off. Mack Maine apparently kept the same energy on social media, too. Over the years, he’s posted about Miley Cyrus multiple times on Twitter (now X), seemingly counting down the days until she reached legal age and consistently commenting on her looks. On November 23, 2009 – the same year the song dropped – he tweeted, “Happy bdayyyyyyyy 2 my babygirl Miley Cyrus… 17yrs old…1 more yr…luv.” A month prior, on October 12, 2009, he wrote, “My baby Miley mustve been missin me while I was overseas!!! She deleted her Twitter n now she rapping??? I gotta fly n see my Babygirl!!!” Even in 2010, on November 22, he posted, “Happy bday to my babygirl my pyt Miley Cyrus…holla at me baby!!! It’s all luv ova here…ymcmb.” Fast forward to September 6, 2012, he was still at it: “So y’all really go[nna] act like my baby Miley wasn’t looking super duper hot tonight???”
