Nicki Minaj Comes For California Governor Gavin Newsom — He Ignores Her

Welp, it looks like Nicki Minaj is back in full ‘troll mode,’ and this time, California Governor Gavin Newsom is squarely in her crosshairs. She recently threw some serious shade his way, and it seems like the Queen Barb isn’t even close to being done.

The whole thing kicked off when Nicki praised Vice President JD Vance. Vance, never one to miss a moment, jumped in with a petty response of his own, tweeting, “Nicki>Cardi.” But things really heated up on Thursday when Nicki fired back with “The Vance > The Gav Nots,” a clear jab at the California Governor. By Friday, she was fully on the gas pedal, unleashing a rant directly aimed at Newsom on X (formerly Twitter).

Her first post didn’t hold back, reading: “Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids. Not Gav, The Gav Nots, GavOUT. Send in the next guy, I’m bored.”

She followed that up with another message, dripping with sarcasm: “Oh Gavvy pooh, it only gets worse from here for you, buddy. It’s the end of the road for you, my love. Get on the nearest jet ski & let that beautiful hair blow in the wind. It will make you happier than this race that you will not win. Enjoy life. Peace.” Just for good measure, she added, “Gavel, Gavel, Gavel.”

This isn’t new territory for Nicki. Lately, she’s been openly showing support for Donald Trump and members of his administration, making her political takes a hot topic. What’s got everyone’s eyebrows raised, though, is the silence from Governor Newsom.

Usually, Newsom is quick with a clapback, especially when he’s called out. His uncharacteristic quietness has the internet buzzing. Is he cooking up something major, or is he just saving his energy for other political battles? Either way, the timelines are watching, waiting to see what happens next.
