Nicki Minaj Goes Nuclear On California Governor Gavin Newsom After He Finally Breaks Silence With Megan Thee Stallion’s Diss “HISS”

Whew, chile! Nicki Minaj is not holding back, going full throttle on California Governor Gavin Newsom. He finally broke his silence after her days-long rant, even throwing shade with Megan Thee Stallion’s infamous diss track, “HISS.”

It all started on December 11, when Nicki Minaj claimed Vice President JD Vance was a better pick than Newsom. Her posts on X seemed to stem from the Governor’s recent comments about transgender people.

In a recent interview on the Ezra Klein Show, Newsom opened up about his controversial stance on transgender athletes. One line from his comments instantly went mega-viral.

“We didn’t get into trans sports. That’s an issue no one wants to hear about because 80% of people listening disagree with my position on this, but it comes from my heart. Not just my head. It wasn’t a political evolution. I don’t think it’s fair…I wanna see trans kids, I have a trans godson. There’s no governor that’s done more pro trans legislation than I have, and no one has been a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ community.”

What’s Nicki Minaj’s Beef With California Governor Gavin Newsom?

Beyond the transgender comments, Nicki has also been openly aligning with former President Donald Trump and his administration. This connection sparked on November 1 when she praised Trump for addressing Nigeria amidst reports of Christian persecution. She even got a United Nations invitation and later spoke about religious violence alongside Trump’s U.N. ambassador.

The “Chun-Li” rapper has also voiced her frustrations with California’s state and local government. Her Los Angeles home was swatted multiple times with her son inside, leading her to call out “political corruption” and allege that officials failed to bring anyone to justice. As Nicki leans right politically, Newsom, a Democrat, remains a frequent target of her ire.

Gavin Newsom Finally Claps Back At Nicki Minaj And Uses Megan Thee Stallion’s Diss “HISS” To Do It

After Nicki initially slammed him, she continued her online drag session when Newsom broke his own silence on Friday, December 12. He shared a video montage featuring photos of Trump with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and several unidentified young women.

The kicker? Megan Thee Stallion’s “HISS” — specifically the “Megan’s Law” part — played over the video. This part of the track references the 1996 federal law requiring sex offenders to register their names and addresses for public protection.

Newsom’s move clearly set Nicki off, prompting an onslaught of memes and fiery posts calling him “Newscum.”
