Hip-hop icon and Hollywood star Queen Latifah had to jump online this week to clear the air after a false rumor about her death started spreading across social media.
The speculation began circulating earlier in the week, with several posts falsely claiming the legendary entertainer had passed away. But Latifah quickly shut the rumors down by posting a calm and reassuring video to Instagram on Thursday (March 5).
In the short reel, Latifah appeared relaxed and makeup-free while sitting in the driver’s seat of her parked car.
“Good morning. It’s me, Latifah,” she said in the clip. “I’m 100 percent A-OK. Can’t believe what you read on the internet or see. Can’t believe nothing now, right? I’m good. Peace.”
Fans immediately flooded the comments with relief and love for the star, who has been a staple in music, television, and film for decades.
Beyond her entertainment career, Latifah has also been vocal about important health conversations, especially around menopause and heart health among women. In a previous interview, she opened up about how watching family members struggle with obesity and cardiovascular disease has impacted her perspective on wellness.
“Losing family members to the effects of obesity is really tough,” she shared, noting that making healthier lifestyle choices can have a powerful influence on loved ones and communities.
These days, Latifah is also enjoying life as a mother. The award-winning entertainer shares a 6-year-old son named Rebel with her longtime partner, choreographer Eboni Nichols.
Latifah also recently wrapped up her role on the hit CBS series The Equalizer, where she played the fearless Robyn McCall, proving once again why she remains one of the most respected names in entertainment.
For now, the message from the Queen herself is simple: she’s healthy, happy, and still very much here.
