The NFL star was cleared of all charges in a Massachusetts courtroom after a jury found him not guilty of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery tied to a 2025 incident involving his former chef. This is huge news in the world of professional football, and Stefon Diggs can finally move forward.
The verdict was delivered at Dedham District Court, where Diggs was present as the decision came down. Witnesses say he became visibly emotional, with tears streaming as the words “not guilty” were read—twice.
After about 90 minutes of deliberation, the jury sided with Diggs, effectively closing the case and wiping away the possibility of serious prison time. The felony charge alone could have carried up to five years behind bars.
The case centered around accusations made by his former live-in chef, Jamila Adams, who alleged Diggs assaulted her during a dispute over money in December 2025. She claimed the altercation left her unable to breathe.
However, the defense pushed back hard—arguing there was no physical evidence to support her claims. During the trial, Adams faced tough questioning, including scrutiny over an alleged $5.5 million demand made before trial and the lack of documented injuries.
Diggs’ legal team emphasized that the case relied solely on her statements, with no corroborating proof. Ultimately, the jury agreed.
