Since Meghan Markle stepped down from her royal duties back in 2020, she’s been exploring all kinds of paths. The Duchess has added podcaster, producer, children’s book author, public speaker, and even reality TV star to her resume. And who could forget homemaker, cook, and lifestyle mogul? So, why not add radio host to that ever-growing list, right?
Word on the street is, after Meghan shared her love for U.K.’s Magic FM (think feel-good hits from the ’80s to today), the station’s content director, Paul Sylvester, threw out an offer. He basically said, “Duchess, the mic is yours whenever you want it!”
But hold up! One PR expert is saying a radio gig might not be the best move for Meghan right now. She’s got some advice for the former Suits star on what she should do instead.
Kayley Cornelius, a PR guru and celebrity commentator who’s been featured in major publications like the Daily Mail and the BBC, is dropping some truth bombs.
Cornelius gets straight to the point, “That track record is exactly why a return to U.K. radio could be a mistake. Radio is not about short bursts of attention. It is about consistency, authenticity and longevity. Audiences build relationships with presenters they trust, tuning in week after week to feel a sense of familiarity.
“Given Meghan’s recent history with projects starting strong and then fizzling out, it is uncertain whether she can deliver the kind of long-term stability that radio demands. A show might launch with plenty of buzz, but it also carries the possibility of following a similar path to her other ventures. It could fade sooner than expected and leave her open to further criticism and questions about her ability to follow through.”
According to Cornelius, Prince Harry’s wife doesn’t need to jump into another new project right now. Instead, she suggests going back to something familiar, something she excelled at: acting.
She believes what Meghan needs now isn’t just another fleeting venture, but a chance to reset her image. “Sliding back into her acting career could be the key. Remember when she was on Suits? Meghan was genuinely admired then. She built her own career, separate from her royal status, and audiences loved her character and her talent. Returning to acting would remind people of that side of her, the hardworking performer who was making a name for herself in Hollywood long before she became a duchess.”
“Acting offers something Meghan desperately needs. It would allow her to rebuild her reputation in a field where she has already proven she can succeed, and it would distance her from the narrative of failed side projects. In doing so, she could re-establish a fan base, win back goodwill, and create a foundation strong enough to support other ventures in the future.”
Cornelius concludes, “The heart of the problem is trust. Until Meghan reconnects with audiences in a way that feels authentic, consistent and true to her strengths, new projects in radio, lifestyle or media may struggle to gain lasting traction. Returning to acting might just be the bridge that allows her to rediscover her identity, rebuild her image and finally give her ventures the stability they need to succeed.”
