Recorded in a matter of weeks, it gave us "Déjà Vu," "Ring the Alarm," "Get Me Bodied," "Upgrade U" and "Irreplaceable," which ran ten weeks at No.1. 20 years later "B'Day" might still be the most fun she's ever sounded.

On the R&B Money Podcast, Joe said the project is written and produced entirely by him, recorded with live instruments and strings, and will come out through distribution rather than a label. A vinyl pressing is planned. A single is tentatively set for release this year.

On Monday, a Clark County jury found Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, 63, guilty of first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur. He is the only person ever charged in the case. Tupac was shot in a drive-by on the Las Vegas Strip on September 7, 1996, and died six days later. He was 25. Prosecutors said Davis was the shot caller in the white Cadillac that night and handed off the gun after his nephew, Orlando 'Baby Lane' Anderson, was beaten by Tupac's group at the MGM Grand hours earlier.
