Tyde is having a moment, and the UK’s R&B scene just keeps getting deeper. The Leicester artist has been steadily building momentum since dropping his 2023 debut EP ‘Words Off My Chest’, and now he’s back with ‘SUMMER TYME’, a seven-track project that shows real growth and intention. His latest Tyde has moved from late-night slow burners like ‘bet it is’ to the more upbeat bounce of ‘tally up’, with his falsetto threading through every moment like it knows exactly what it’s doing.
What’s most impressive about this run is how independent it’s been. More than 60 million streams built on his own terms, no shortcuts, no major label backing needed. ‘SUMMER TYME’ sounds like an artist who’s done the work and knows exactly where he’s headed. There’s a confidence here that comes from making moves on your own timeline and watching people actually care about what you’re putting out.
For those of us watching the UK’s R&B renaissance unfold, Tyde represents something important—another talented Black artist from outside London proving that the creative energy is everywhere, and that quality always finds its audience. This is worth your time.
