Back in September, Ray J claimed he was planning to bring RICO charges against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. During a Twitch livestream, the “One Wish” singer told Chrisean Rock that he was ready to drop a federal RICO case on his ex and her mother. By October 1, Kim and Kris filed a defamation lawsuit against Ray J, but he quickly responded, claiming he “won’t be silenced.” During another Twitch livestream, Ray showed his viewers the lawsuit and fired off:
“Like, what’s f***ed up is that this sh*t bothers me every day when I see my daughter and I see my son and I’m like, yo, I know they… I have one year left to make sure that they know who they dad really is. Ray J Countersues Kim Kardashian And Kris Jenner Over Defamation Lawsuit Regarding Infamous Sex Tape
A month after Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner’s defamation lawsuit, Ray J is formally firing back with a suit of his own. According to TMZ, Ray’s complaint alleges all three were in cahoots about the infamous sex tape and its alleged “leak.” He alleges Kardashian wasn’t against it at all — something he mentioned in his September 2022 Instagram Live.
In the new legal documents, filed by Ray’s attorney Howard King, Ray alleges he and Kardashian consensually shot a sex tape in 2003 and that in 2006, they talked about releasing it. He alleges Kardashian urged her momager to orchestrate the release and commercial exploitation.
Ray also alleges that the mother and daughter duo “spent two decades peddling the false story that the sex tape … was leaked against her will.” He claims the two are “furious” that he “no longer wants to play along with their tall tale.”
Meanwhile, the duo’s attorney, Alex Spiro, told TMZ:
“After realizing he is losing the case and losing his way, this disjointed rambling distraction is not intimidating anyone. Ray J will lose this frivolous case too.”
Ray J Mentions Kanye West In Kim Kardashian And Kris Jenner Countersuit, Plus Alleged $6 Million Settlement
Ray J also mentions Kanye West in his countersuit, claiming that on ‘The Kardashians‘ reality show, Jenner, Kardashian, and West falsely accused him of sexually assaulting Kim while she was asleep, releasing revenge porn, and extorting them.
Ray J claims that after initiating legal proceedings, Kardashian, Jenner, and their production company reached an agreement with him, including Kardashian allegedly agreeing to pay him a $6 million settlement. Ray also claims the agreement banned further mention or public reference of the sex tape on ‘The Kardashians‘ reality show.
However, Ray alleges that almost immediately after entering the settlement, the family breached the contract when Kardashian, Jenner, West, and Kendall Jenner all made statements in violation of the agreement. Subsequently, Ray J is seeking $1 million in damages under the breached settlement.
Ray J Addresses Kim Kardashian And Kris Jenner Defamation Lawsuit And RICO Claims Against Them
Addressing Kardashian and Jenner’s defamation lawsuit, Ray claims it’s more about “publicity, power, and punishment.” He says the duo filed their baseless lawsuit “to weaponize the judicial system, shirk their contractual obligations, and sacrifice on the altar of fame.”
The singer also addresses his Kardashian-Jenner RICO comment from his September livestream. He claims he thought his microphone was off when he said, “The feds is coming to investigate because I can’t be the dirty guy no more.”
Additionally, Ray J says he saw similarities between charges under a RICO and Kardashian and Jenner’s alleged “conspiracy with Vivid to release and lie” about the sex tape. He also cites the duo’s alleged “conspiracy to trick him into signing the Agreement before broadcasting further content” about the sex tape.
Ray J recalls contemplating a lawsuit against Kardashian and Jenner under the civil RICO statute, wondering if they could potentially face any RICO violations. He also referenced a jab at the Kardashians during his interview on TMZ’s Tubi documentary, ‘United States vs. Sean Combs‘. In it, he said, “If you told me the Kardashians was being charged for racketeering, I might believe it.”
