The injured Pennsylvania man told officers he’d been cleaning his shotgun earlier. He’d put it on the bed before sitting down. Then, one of his dogs jumped up, and boom! A round went into his lower back.
Police say the dog’s movement pulled the trigger, firing a shot that hit the man at close range.
The victim’s son and two other dogs were also home, but weren’t in the room when it happened.
Authorities are calling it an accident, but they’re still investigating to make sure there was no negligence or criminal behavior involved.
