ABC News Studios and 20/20 are bringing us a special primetime moment: Michelle Obama: The Style, The Power, The Look – A Conversation with Robin Roberts, airing Sunday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu.

Filmed at Marymount University in Virginia, this conversation between Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts and former First Lady Michelle Obama dives deep into the influence of fashion throughout her incredible journey. From designing her own prom dress to navigating the global stage as the first Black First Lady, we’re ready to hear it all!

And just in time! The special arrives just before Obama’s new book, “The Look,” drops on Nov. 4 from Crown. Co-written with her longtime stylist and creative consultant Meredith Koop, the book is a reflection on the former First Lady’s most iconic style moments and the stories that made them so powerful.

But the insights don’t stop there. Expect commentary from her amazing glam squad—makeup artist Carl Ray and hairstylists Yene Damtew and Njeri Radway—along with designers like Diane von Furstenberg, Jason Wu, Tracy Reese, and Narciso Rodriguez, plus fashion journalists and historians. Talk about a lineup!

ABC also teases that Obama will surprise current and former students who are pursuing their fashion dreams, highlighting her dedication to education, mentorship, and empowering the next generation.

Produced by ABC News Studios and 20/20, with Janice Johnston and Karen Leo as executive producers, and David Sloan as senior executive producer, this special promises to be a must-watch for anyone inspired by style, substance, and Black excellence.
