Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has announced the release of Issue 1 of its groundbreaking comic book series, The Men of Distinction – Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. According to the fraternity, the project blends the fraternity’s historic legacy with a dynamic and imaginative take on superhero storytelling.

In a post published to the Fraternity’s official Facebook page, Alpha Phi Alpha described the series as a fictional reimagining of its college leadership, where five Regional Assistant Vice Presidents are transformed into heroes endowed with powers derived from an ancient mystical lineage. These characters—Kendall “Brick” Harris, Damon “Promo” Hendricks, Simon “Black Wall Street” Patton, Roger “Perfectionist” Cummings, and Gerald “Oracle” Owens—form a team dedicated to protecting communities, advocating for the rights of college students of color, and battling supervillains in a world beset by injustice.

The comic was written and edited by Jeremy Stokes and Kieth Harris, with illustrations by Curt Wilson and a cover by Baron Tosin. Contributors to the project include Sean L. McCaskill, Eric Christopher Webb, Donnell Thomas, and Tkebanx.T. Jahannes.

By fusing Alpha Phi Alpha’s mission of leadership, academic excellence, service, and advocacy with comic book mythology, the series introduces a fresh medium to engage younger audiences while celebrating the Fraternity’s cultural and historical impact. The Men of Distinction sets the stage for an ongoing narrative that reimagines Black Greek life as a source of heroic power and purpose.
