Notorious B.I.G.‘s son, Christopher Wallace Jr., is challenging his grandmother’s will in court, claiming it was drastically altered just weeks before she passed. Court filings obtained by BlkCosmo reveal the dispute centers on amendments made to the estate plan that he says don’t add up.
Christopher’s grandmother, Voletta Wallace, died in February 2025 and left behind Christopher and a granddaughter. Her son, the legendary rapper Notorious B.I.G., was killed in 1997.

Back in 2020, Voletta signed a will that outlined her wishes for her fur collection, jewelry, music awards belonging to Biggie, a Mercedes-Benz SUV, a Jamaica property, and other assets. Most items were set to go to Christopher and his sister, with some pieces designated for her brother. Her stake in the company managing Biggie’s estate would transfer to her foundation.
When Biggie died, Voletta inherited a 50% interest in his company, which she managed alongside Faith Evans, the rapper’s widow, until her own death.
The problem, according to Christopher’s filing, emerged 15 days before Voletta died. That’s when she allegedly signed an amendment that removed her grandchildren as beneficiaries and appointed Wayne Barrow—a former Biggie manager—as the estate executor. Christopher questions whether his grandmother was even capable of making such a significant change.
In his court documents, Christopher notes that Voletta was in poor health during her final weeks, taking multiple medications and spending most of her time in bed. He claims the signatures on the amendment look “facially inconsistent” with her typical signature and should be examined by a forensic expert.
Christopher is asking the court to invalidate the amendment and remove Wayne Barrow as executor immediately.
This move comes on the heels of a legal win for Wayne in his dispute with Faith Evans. A judge recently ruled that Faith must grant Wayne access to Voletta’s portion of the Biggie trust profits, a decision that appears to have prompted Christopher’s challenge.
By contesting the amendment to Voletta’s will, Christopher is essentially attempting to block Wayne from gaining control over her estate and the assets tied to the Biggie legacy.
