But here’s the kicker: the judge dismissed the entire case this past Wednesday, not because of the allegations themselves, but due to some serious procedural missteps. The court found that none of the defendants were ever properly served with the lawsuit papers. On top of that, after her attorney withdrew, Parham reportedly failed to secure new legal representation or file the necessary paperwork to keep things moving. So, the court never even got to dive into the claims against Sean “Diddy” Combs, Druski, and Odell Beckham Jr., dismissing the whole thing on these technical grounds.
So, what really went down? Court records lay it out clearly: a failure to properly serve legal papers was a primary issue. Federal law demands that defendants receive formal notification of a lawsuit, and without proof of service to Diddy, Druski, or Beckham Jr., the court couldn’t legally proceed with the case.
Beyond the service snafu, Ashley Parham also reportedly missed several court-ordered deadlines. These included crucial dates for finding new legal counsel or even informing the court of her intention to proceed without an attorney. The judge highlighted these missed deadlines as a significant factor in the dismissal.
Initially, attorney Ariel Mitchell represented Parham but withdrew from the case in September. The court granted extensions for Parham to find a new lawyer. However, according to the judge’s ruling, she didn’t meet those deadlines or submit the required paperwork to continue the case on her own. Multiple extensions were provided, yet no further action was taken by the plaintiff.
Ultimately, the judge concluded that dismissal was appropriate due to a lack of prosecution and failure to comply with court requirements.
Before the dismissal, the defendants publicly challenged the allegations. Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly questioned if he was even in Orinda, California, where the alleged incident took place. Druski stated he wasn’t a public figure in 2018 and provided financial records to support this claim.
Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has been navigating a number of lawsuits recently, also denied the allegations in the filing. It’s crucial to remember that this dismissal was entirely based on procedural issues, meaning the court never made a ruling on the merits or truthfulness of the allegations themselves.
