Sean “Diddy” Combs Scores Legal Win After Judge Approves Fast-Tracked Appeal

Big news for Diddy as a federal judge just granted his request for an expedited appeals schedule! This could give him the chance to challenge his 50-month prison sentence sooner than expected.

U.S. Circuit Court Judge Beth Robinson signed off on it, just days after the music mogul was moved to a federal facility in New Jersey. He’s there to begin serving time for those two interstate prostitution convictions.

Judge Robinson is laying out the roadmap for the next few months. Diddy’s team needs to file their appeal brief by December 23, the government’s response is due February 20, and Diddy gets his final say by March 13.

If everything goes smoothly, oral arguments could kick off as early as April. This means Diddy’s fight for freedom could be hitting the courtroom real soon!

Diddy’s Conviction and the Case That Shocked the Industry

Remember this summer when Diddy was convicted on two counts under the Mann Act? That’s the controversial law about transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He got off on the bigger charges, like racketeering and sex trafficking.

Prosecutors had painted him as running a “criminal enterprise,” accusing him of forcing women into drug-fueled situations. But Diddy stood his ground, pleading not guilty and denying everything.

His attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, recently stated that Diddy’s appeal will challenge the unfair use of the Mann Act. She called it an “infamous statute with a sordid history” and said it’s being used to prosecute him for sex with consenting adults.

She’s highlighting the bigger picture – how is this old law still being used in modern cases about consent?

Inside Diddy’s Life at Fort Dix Federal Prison

Diddy’s now at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey. It’s a low-security facility in New Hanover Township, housing about 4,000 inmates. It’s no luxury stay, but it’s safer than higher-security spots.

Sources say he’s keeping a low profile, adjusting to prison life. Fort Dix has seen its share of famous inmates, and Diddy’s now on that list. His lawyers are working hard to make sure he doesn’t stay there too long.
If his appeal goes well, the 55-year-old could get his time cut short. Right now, he’s set to be released May 8, 2028. But he could get out early for good behavior or by completing programs behind bars.
