‘Juwanna Mann’ Star Miguel A. Nunez Jr. Confirms Sequel Is Coming

Word on the street is that Miguel A. Nunez Jr. has confirmed what we’ve all been waiting to hear: “Juwanna Mann 2” is officially happening! In a recent chat with TMZ Sports, the actor shared that not only is the sequel moving forward, but he’s also got his eye on Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, two of the WNBA’s biggest stars right now.

Nunez, whom we all remember as Jamal Jeffries in the hilarious 2002 basketball comedy, assured TMZ that the project is still very much alive. He urged fans to be patient, reminding us that Hollywood moves at its own pace, especially when dealing with a cult classic.

“It’s The Perfect Time For This Story” — Nunez Says The World’s Ready For ‘Juwanna Mann 2’

In the original “Juwanna Mann,” Nunez played a male basketball star who hilariously disguised himself as a woman to play in the women’s league after getting booted from the pros. Talk about a controversial yet funny plot back in the early 2000s!

Now, over two decades later, Nunez feels the sequel’s timing is perfect. He believes the world is ready to revisit this story, but with a modern twist that tackles today’s conversations around sports, identity, and gender.

When asked if the same plotline would resonate in 2025, Nunez said it’s “actually the perfect moment” for it. He explained that audiences now have the cultural understanding and sense of humor to appreciate the subject in a fresh and meaningful way.

“People can laugh but also think,” he told TMZ. “That’s what good comedy does.”

Miguel A. Nunez Jr. Wants Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese To Join The Cast

If you thought this sequel couldn’t get any more exciting, Nunez is already envisioning a dream cast. He wants Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, the WNBA’s dynamic rivals, to be a part of “Juwanna Mann 2.”

With these two phenomenal women making headlines and elevating women’s basketball, their inclusion would bring a new level of authenticity and cultural relevance to the film.

And, of course, Nunez didn’t hesitate to joke about how he’d fit into the mix.

“I’d beat [Caitlin’s] ass and I’d marry Angel Reese.”

It’s that same quick wit and vibrant energy that made “Juwanna Mann” such a standout comedy. Nunez clearly intends to keep the humor alive, just with a 2025 spin.
