But while his star was rising, his career was cut tragically short when a plane he was traveling in with members of his band crashed, killing all but one passenger on board. Although he didn't live to see it, the last song he wrote, "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay," soared to the top of the charts and solidified his place among some of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time.

N.O.R.E. Sued for Sexual Assault by Carmen Bryan
Carmen Bryan has accused N.O.R.E. of sexually assaulting her at an NYC club in the '90s. She alleges N.O.R.E., whose real name is Victor Santiago, came up to her visibly intoxicated and committed an act of nonconsensual digital penetration in front of her friends. Bryan claims she begged him to stop, but he physically overpowered her until other clubgoers pulled him off. She says she ran crying from the club, but the rapper followed her. Bryan stayed silent publicly for years but was inspired to come forward after seeing Cassie sue Diddy over assault allegations. She is seeking compensatory damages for emotional distress and mental anguish.

Lil Durk has been exonerated in his murder-for-hire case because a jury found him not guilty on all five charges. After 3 days of deliberation, the jury returned a not guilty verdict regarding his alleged involvement in a fatal 2022 shooting in L.A. Prosecutors argued that Lil Durk had hired a hit team to kill rival rapper Quando Rondo but shot his cousin instead.
