Black Fathers Building Strong Communities

When preparing for fatherhood, I searched for resources and community in Chicago but found little compared to what was available to my wife. While supporting mothers remains crucial, I wondered where spaces were for fathers to prepare emotionally, discuss fears and build relationships. This led me to found Daddy Victory Club, connecting over 300 Black fathers through walks, fitness and conversations. Black fathers nationwide are organizing similar initiatives, yet these efforts remain largely invisible to institutions and media. Supporting fathers strengthens families by creating another informed, emotionally present parent.
