3 Sides to Every Story

Keep in mind, there are three sides to every story: his side, her side, and then the truth. Let’s stay tuned, and hopefully, the truth will prevail.

North Little Rock police officer Tommy Norman has garnered a significant reputation far beyond his badge. He’s built a powerful social media platform with nearly two million followers, particularly within Black communities eager for authentic, positive narratives about policing. Affectionately known as the “Instagram Cop,” Tommy has become an influential voice championing justice, community engagement, and empowerment. His heartfelt videos often highlight local neighborhood stories, promote fundraisers, and lift up everyday heroes, embodying his Instagram bio mantra: “Being a voice for the voiceless. Love everyone.” In 2021, his commitment to bridging community divides was recognized with the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by President Joe Biden.

However, shocking news this past weekend has rattled many who admired Tommy Norman. He was arrested on domestic battery charges after police responded to a late-night call alleging he struck his wife during an argument. According to reports, officers were called to the home following an assault complaint. His wife stated she was hit on the chest, while Norman claimed he acted in self-defense after being slapped. This incident stands in stark contrast to the compassionate public figure so many looked up to, causing deep disappointment among his followers.

Norman is currently being held without bond as he faces legal and internal investigations and has been placed on administrative leave. A 27-year veteran of the North Little Rock Police Department, his career and online legacy are at a critical crossroads. His court date is set for November 6.

For many Black women, Tommy Norman represented hope. He was a reminder that law enforcement could be human, caring, and genuinely invested in their communities. This situation opens an important conversation about accountability, the complexities of public personas versus private realities, and the crucial importance of supporting survivors of domestic violence while simultaneously seeking truth. His story is still unfolding, and the impact of this moment weighs heavily on those who once saw him as a beacon for change and safety.

    2. What they need to do stop making domestic violence a charge that can handle you from getting a job. It’s a civilian issue there’s no threat to anyone else and they need to just learn to stay out of people business. Stuff happens just because you have a domestic violence issue does not mean that you’re a bad person each each situation is different

    3. So hear me out..im not here saying that hitting her was the right choice but IF he did shouldn’t she have been arrested as well for striking him first? Yes he should have walked away but some females think that hitting a man whether its once or constantly is not going to cause a man to react. Maybe they both should have kept their hands to themselves.
