The “Pink Friday 2” rapper opened with a diary entry voiceover: “Dear Diary, well the press is hot for me.” From there, the Fauci parody got progressively absurd. Nicki Minaj had her fictional Fauci character bragging about being “sexier than Tyra Banks” and claiming Julia Roberts gasped at his handsomeness. She even joked that Brad Pitt played him on SNL.
But beneath the humor sat a sharper critique. The impersonation shifted tone when Fauci said, “Never mind that I sent millions of children back years on their education… and the elderly are alone and afraid dying by themselves.” The character doubled down with lines about silencing critics: “If anyone asks questions, me and my gang ruin lives.”
This latest jab follows Minaj’s earlier posts calling out COVID vaccine boosters and Fauci specifically. She’d tweeted that officials were pushing boosters like sneaker releases, saying she was “building the Arc” in her backyard because of it.
Minaj’s timing aligns with ongoing scrutiny Fauci faces. Earlier this week, he invoked the Fifth Amendment during congressional hearings on COVID, refusing to answer questions. Politicians including Senator Rand Paul have called for his prosecution.
For his part, Fauci’s supporters argue he spent decades serving the public and saving lives through his work. The divide over his pandemic response remains as sharp as ever.
