    kweliTV and its 501(c)(3) partner, the Black Indie Creatives Coalition (BICC), are thrilled to announce Black.Indie.Ignite., a two-day summit designed to power the next wave of Black indie filmmakers, immersive creators, and creative technologists. Taking place in Los Angeles, this gathering blends intimate fireside conversations with hands-on Ignition Labs to provide creators with practical tools, career strategies, and community support to move ideas from vision to screen.

    Guided by the theme “Ignite Your Vision,” Black.Indie.Ignite. convenes artists, innovators, and industry allies for skill-building, candid talks, and intentional networking—all rooted in ownership, sustainability, and culture-shifting storytelling. Let’s cultivate a new generation of Black storytellers!

    Event Highlights:

    Fireside Chats with creative leaders on building sustainable careers, navigating distribution, and protecting intellectual property.

    Ignition Labs (workshops) on brand building, pitch craft, festival strategy, audience growth, and emerging tech.

    Creator Connections: curated small-group meetups to spark collaborations across film, TV, and creative tech.

    Showcase Moments spotlighting global Black indie stories and the visionaries behind them.

    “Black.Indie.Ignite. is about more than inspiration—it’s about resourcing creators with real pathways to grow their craft, their audience, and their businesses,” said DeShuna Elisa Spencer, founder & CEO of kweliTV and co-host of the summit. “We’re building a space where our stories, our data, and our futures are owned by us despite the current climate.”

    Curated for Black indie filmmakers, producers, writers, editors, animators, immersive artists, festival organizers, educators, and brand/impact partners, the summit creates a vital space to move Black storytelling forward.
