    On a recent episode of his Wondery show, ‘We Playin’ Spades,’ Nick Cannon controversially declared he’d rather raise a child who knows how to “throw hands”—essentially, be a fighter—rather than one who gets picked on and bullied. Talk about a fiery stance!

    Nick Cannon’s Lengthy Loving Family Tree

    We all know Cannon, born Nicholas Scott Cannon, is famously a father of 12. At 44, this superdad shares his dozen children with six different women. Just for a quick refresher, he and Mariah Carey, 56, are parents to his oldest, twins Moroccan “Roc” Scott Cannon and Monroe “Roe” Cannon, both 14. With Brittany Bell, 38, he shares Golden Sagon Cannon, 7, Powerful Queen Cannon, 4, and Rise Messiah Cannon, 3. Then there’s Abby De La Rosa, 35, with whom Cannon has another set of twins, Zion Mixolydian Cannon and Zillion Heir Cannon, 4, plus daughter Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon, 3. He also shares Legendary Love Cannon, 3, with Bre Tiesi, 34, and Onyx Ice Cole Cannon, 3, with LaNisha Cole, 43. Finally, with Alyssa Scott, 32, he shares daughter Halo Marie Cannon, who turns 3 on December 14, and his late son, Zen Scott Cannon, who tragically passed at 5 months from brain cancer.     Nick Cannon Would Rather ‘Raise A Bully’ Than To Have His Child Be Bullied

    During the November 24-released episode of his Wondery show, ‘We Playin’ Spades,’ Cannon was joined by co-host Courtney Bee, his baby mama and ‘Selling Sunset’ star Bre Tiesi, and comedian/mom Aminah Imani. The conversation quickly got spicy.

    When Cannon asked Tiesi about the last time she ‘got her a** whooped,’ she playfully pointed to his child, noting, “He’s a little fighter.” Cannon agreed, even mentioning he’d told his son, ‘Do not hit girls. You can hit boys.’ While the table acknowledged his intent, they also questioned the specific phrasing, before diving into the bigger discussion on ‘raising ‘soft’ kids.’

    Cannon then elaborated on his philosophy:

    “First of all, for a man, there’s confidence in knowing how to fight. Just being a protector and being able—. I was a very, very small child. And I had all of the Taekwondo and all that, and that helped me and gave me a sense of confidence. But, it didn’t happen until I got into a couple of fights and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m nice.’ You gotta know what getting punched in the face feels like.”

    He clarified his stance, emphasizing the importance of self-defense and confidence for men:

    “And then you teach them, ‘Okay, you use this for self-defense or you do this or when…’ Because that’s what we do. We got a little boxing gym. He knows, like, I’ll be hitting him in the living room. He’s like, ‘Daddy, that’s in the gym. We only do that in the gym.’ I don’t know. I think I just want people to be like, ‘Well, them Cannons are coming. They going to f**k you up. You see them Cannons?’ I’d rather raise a bully than my child to be bullied. At least teach your kids how to defend themselves.”

    Courtney Bee jumped in, agreeing that kids need to learn self-defense, but also observing, “We in a different day and time. These kids soft as hell. There’s some soft a** kids, I ain’t gonna hold you.” Cannon quickly chimed in, “They soft! And they gotta go tell somebody.”
