It’s no secret that Coco, never one to back down, has consistently addressed the critics who come for her parenting choices. Back in August 2021, she spoke about the bond she shared with Chanel during breastfeeding:

“Chanel still likes my boobs. It’s a big bonding moment for a mother and your child. Why take that away from her? … If she doesn’t want it, all right, that’s where you stop it. But I’m not just going to say no.”

The year before, Coco shared on Instagram that nursing was a comfort for her then-4-year-old daughter, who definitely wasn’t lacking in solid food.

“At this point in nursing it’s just for comfort and believe me the girl loves meat so its not like she isnt eating real food…😁 Thank you to all that understand my view.. i see most of you are so eager to side with me and I too root for you in your journey as well.. Us moms are connected 💗”

Ice-T has always been in his wife’s corner, viewing breastfeeding as a special way for Chanel to connect with her mom.

Following Coco’s 2021 comments, Ice-T clarified that Chanel eats solid food but enjoys “to suck mom’s boob every now and then… Me Too!!!”

Coco addressed the controversy again on E! News Daily Pop, emphasizing that she stands by her decisions, regardless of societal norms.

“I just don’t believe society says they should stop at two. You as a mother should stop because they said so. I’m [not] going to stop because I feel like it’s a great bonding experience between her and I. She’s my only child, it’s not like I have a big family of kids, and so I’m savoring every moment with this child.”

During that interview, Chanel herself confirmed with a smile that she wanted “the boob.”

Fast forward four years, and Coco is still addressing the critics. On a recent episode of Bunnie XO‘s ‘Dumb Blonde‘ podcast, she explained that it wasn’t about nourishment but the “bonding experience” with her little girl.

“The whole concept of the breastfeeding thing, it wasn’t like I was feeding her ’cause she needed a meal, right/ She was able to eat by a year. Full solids. It was more of a bonding experience and then more of like, okay, I’ll give you the milk, but it was more like she wanted to be around me.

So, I was like, I’m going to let her stop when she wants to stop. She’s not going to be 16 on my boob. She’s going to eventually figure out, okay, this is kind of strange or weird, and stop. And that happened around six. Which was still an extremely long amount of time, apparently. But, in Europe, they’re doing ’til seven. Like, it’s nothing to them. Americans think that’s weird.”

Bunnie XO pointed out that if both mother and child were comfortable, there’s no issue. Coco agreed, adding that it was comforting, especially at bedtime.

Despite the negativity, Coco emphasized that she received immense support.

“I got so many people that loved it. Like, they were on my side. I had everybody come out of the woodwork when it comes to breastfeeding. Ladies, they were so on my side and I was like, ‘Oh this is so nice.’ Because I was the only one speaking about it. And I’m like, ‘Why is it so hard?’ Like, people have been doing this for thousands of years. Like, it’s not a big thing. It’s a boob.”

Coco shared that her daughter is still “obsessed with boobs” and finds comfort in them.

“To this day, though, she’s obsessed with boobs. She loves boobs. She’s always very comforted. She likes pillows and stuff like that. So, she’s like always sitting there, laying on me. It’s just a really nice moment, because it’s like, it’s not going to be like this when they get into the teenage years, you know? So, I’m like, loving every moment I can [get] with Chanel.”
