The 2026 Primetime Emmys went off without a hitch on Monday, but the red carpet proved more unpredictable. While many attendees served looks that landed, others missed the mark entirely. We’re talking outfits that looked better on the showroom rack than on Hollywood’s biggest night.
Some stars clearly had the best intentions when getting dressed, yet the final result just didn’t work. Whether it was questionable silhouettes, color clashes, or proportions that threw everything off balance, these fashion moments didn’t deliver. Here’s our rundown of the Primetime Emmys red carpet misses.
Corey Hendrix
Salmon pink is a bold choice, and an entire monochrome salmon pink suit takes that boldness to another level. The aim was there, but the execution didn’t quite land.
Quinta Brunson
Quinta Brunson usually delivers sweet and sexy looks, but this torn-up slip dress was the complete opposite. The off-the-shoulder effect doesn’t save it. She’s capable of coming much harder than this.
Colman Domingo
Even someone with Colman Domingo’s undeniable style credentials can have an off night. This was one of those moments. Still, he has enough fashion credibility in the bank that we’re willing to let it slide.
Denée Benton
The stomach-baring trend works when the skirt proportions balance the overall silhouette. That’s not what happened here. The proportions felt off, and what could’ve been a major moment fell short.
Mycah Bacchus Maye
All those feathers and ethereal layers made this high-low gown feel overwhelming. High-low silhouettes already require careful handling, and adding this much fluffiness worked against the overall effect.
Cynthia Adarkwa
The color is beautiful against her skin, but those bows? They don’t add anything. They actually distract from what could’ve been a clean, strong look.
Pearlena Igbokwe
This print-heavy moment looked like someone had wrapped a few yards of fabric around the frame and called it a dress. It felt unfinished and more craft store than couture.
Jessica Williams
Jessica Williams has been fantastic on “Shrinking,” but this dress belonged at a Sweet 16, not the Emmys. Her face is stunning enough to carry almost anything, but even that couldn’t save this choice.
RuPaul
For someone as fabulous as RuPaul, showing up in a look that screams “dinner at TAO” felt like a miss. Surely there was a more memorable option.
Samba Schutte
If you can play connect-the-dots with your jacket’s polka dots, you’ve got too many. The intention was clear, but bigger dots would’ve made this work better.
Jamal Sims
I love leopard print. I really do. But it’s possible to wear too much of it, and this was one of those occasions. Just the jacket next time would’ve hit differently.
Tiffany Haddish
This look isn’t offensive. The problem is it doesn’t do anything for her shape or presence. It’s completely unremarkable, which is the real letdown.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Yahya, you’re a favorite. You’ll always be our Wonder Man. But this jacket felt lopsided in all the wrong ways. We don’t like it for you, and honestly, we still don’t like Marvel’s decision to cancel your show either.
