Jake Paul vs Josh Hokit: UFC Heavyweight Challenge

Jake Paul told UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit he would “gladly embarrass” him after the former NFL player challenged Paul to settle their online argument in a boxing ring. This whole situation feels like peak internet energy—two athletes talking trash and potentially setting up a future matchup that nobody really asked for but everyone would probably watch.

The exchange kicked off after Paul claimed no NFL player could survive two rounds against him. He even insisted he could catch a touchdown pass in a professional football game without additional training. Now, that’s bold. Jake Paul wrote on X that “not a single NFL player could last 2 rounds in a professional boxing ring,” imagining Patrick Mahomes telling him to run a 10-yard route before delivering a perfect pass.

Hokit quickly volunteered to prove him wrong. “With all due respect, @jakepaul,” the UFC prospect replied. “Not only could I beat you in a boxing match, I’d beat you in any sport under the sun.” That’s the kind of confidence you love to see. Like when someone’s rocking gold hoop earrings and walking into a room ready to handle business—you just know they mean it.

Paul clapped back fast. “I see your hustle. You do your best to sell,” he wrote. “If you want to fly down to Puerto Rico and box, anytime I will gladly embarrass you.” He’s not one to let anyone get the last word in, that’s for sure.

Hokit’s resume includes stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals before he switched gears to pursue mixed martial arts. He’s remained undefeated since entering professional competition—so this man’s got credentials beyond just talk. Paul, meanwhile, is currently recovering from injuries he suffered during his December bout against Anthony Joshua. Getting back to full strength takes time, so we’ll have to wait and see if this Puerto Rico matchup actually goes down.
