Jared Leto Accused of Cornering Bartender

A former Michigan bartender says Jared Leto would not accept her rejection after a 2011 concert, allegedly following her to her car before sending repeated messages and a nearly nude photograph. The incident raises important questions about consent and accountability in entertainment spaces.

Gracelisa Akers told Page Six she met Jared Leto while working at The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, where 30 Seconds to Mars was performing. She was 25 at the time. Akers said a member of Leto’s team invited her to a gathering inside his dressing room. Once there, she claimed the actor and musician became physically affectionate despite her efforts to create distance.

“His hands were all over me, and he got more irritated,” she said. “I made it clear that I was not into this.”

When Akers left the venue, she said Leto followed her and approached her beside her car. She recalled telling him, “No, I am leaving, I feel uncomfortable,” before driving home.

Akers alleged that Leto then flooded her phone with messages late into the night. About two months later, she said she received a mirror selfie showing him wearing only a towel. The accompanying message included a New York hotel and room number.

“I replied, ‘I’m in Grand Rapids, Michigan, you sent this to the wrong Grace,'” she said.

Akers said she was not physically harmed but believes her experience showed an “unwillingness to take no for an answer.” Her willingness to speak out adds to larger conversations about power dynamics and freedom struggle within entertainment industries, where boundaries are often tested.

Leto has categorically denied sexual assault allegations.
