Newly released police bodycam footage documents the tragic final moments of Lil Poppa after his February suicide in Georgia. The video shows the 25-year-old rapper bloodied and unresponsive as emergency responders discover him slumped in his vehicle and transport him on a stretcher.
BlkCosmo obtained the footage Friday, capturing law enforcement’s response in the parking lot of a Hilton hotel in Hapeville. The video opens with officers finding Lil Poppa in his car, with a woman visibly distraught on the curb nearby. Paramedics rushed him to Grady Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Fulton County coroner’s report, the rapper died from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the left side of his head.
While the official toxicology report remains pending, BlkCosmo previously reported that Lil Poppa’s mother claimed to possess a copy showing the presence of methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death. The circumstances surrounding his final days remain a matter of ongoing family and medical review.
He was 25 years old.
