Lil Wayne & Lil Yachty’s Racehorse Wins $400K

Lil Wayne and Lil Yachty just scored a win at the track. Their horse claimed a major victory Saturday and punched its ticket to the Breeders’ Cup, one of horse racing’s most prestigious events.

Listenupshance, owned by celebrity-backed Run Fast Racing, won the $400,000 Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes on Saturday at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in California. The four-year-old gelding, ridden by Emisael Jaramillo and trained by Doug O’Neill, stayed near the front before taking the lead and holding off Maximum Bourbon by a nose.

Listenupshance completed the six-furlong race in 1:09, marking the first Grade 1 victory of his career. The win secured him a fees-paid berth in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Keeneland on October 31, giving Lil Wayne and his ownership group a shot at one of racing’s championship moments.

Run Fast Racing was founded by entertainment entrepreneur Adam Kluger and includes Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, reggaeton artist Rauw Alejandro, and entrepreneur Glenn Sorgenstein. The ownership group has been building momentum in the sport, offering fans a chance to participate in racehorse ownership for $100 a month through their Direct Pay program.

The Direct Pay model has already distributed nearly $60,000 in winnings to owners, creating a tangible connection between fans and the racing experience. Listenupshance came into the Bing Crosby after a third-place finish in the Grade 3 True North Stakes at Saratoga, so this jump to Grade 1 success represents a significant leap.

For jockey Emisael Jaramillo, this was his first Grade 1 victory in the United States. The combination of rising talent at the track and celebrity ownership has made Run Fast Racing an interesting intersection of entertainment and sport. As the Breeders’ Cup approaches, Listenupshance will face tougher competition, but Saturday’s performance showed the horse has the speed and temperament to compete at the highest levels.
