The internet is buzzing over a recently resurfaced clip from the debut episode of Maury Povichβs podcast, “On Par With Maury Povich.” In it, the iconic talk show host playfully teases his wife, the accomplished journalist Connie Chung, about her past dalliances in Hollywood. It’s the kind of playful shade that only comes after years of love!
During the episode, which originally aired in March but is now going viral, Maury didnβt hold anything back. As Connie reminisced about her early career in California, Maury chimed in with a wink:
βYou became a big starβ¦ and you kinda messed around with stars.β
When she playfully objected, Maury dropped the bombshell: Warren Beatty!
βYou know what my sister said about Warren Beatty?β Maury continued, with a mischievous glint. βEvery woman who came to California had to go through him. It was like an immigration system.β He’s a playa from the Himalayas!
Connie laughed it off, admitting Beatty did have a penchant for women journalists. But that wasnβt all. Maury also revealed that she once had a fling with a member of The Eagles! Connie claimed she didnβt even realize he was in a famous rock band until he serenaded her with βHotel California.β Talk about a smooth operator!
While these revelations had fans in stitches, Maury clarified that he and Connie werenβt exclusive at the time. Still, the unfiltered banter between the couple, who have been married since 1984, is pure gold. Their relationship is clearly built on humor and transparency.
Fans are now flocking to Mauryβs podcast, and many are saying if heβs dropping tea like this in the very first episode, they’re buckled in for the long haul! We’re here for the mess, the magic, and the memories.
