Actress Meagan Good is setting the record straight after her recent skin transformation sparked accusations that she had bleached her skin.

In a candid interview, the Meagan Good opened up about the skincare mishap that left her looking ‘so pale’, much to the dismay of her fans and critics.

Good, known for her radiant brown complexion, said a recent skincare regimen she had been following went awry, leading to a dramatic lightening of her skin tone. ‘I was doing this really great skincare routine and it was like, “Oh my gosh, my skin looks amazing,”‘ the actress explained. ‘And then it was like, “Oh no, it went too far.”‘

The ‘Harlem’ star said she was surprised by the intense backlash she faced, with many accusing her of intentionally bleaching her skin. ‘I was not trying to bleach my skin,’ Good clarified. ‘I was just trying to be healthy, and I think that it backfired.’

Despite the criticism, Good remains unbothered, focused on embracing her natural beauty. ‘At the end of the day, I love myself, I love my brown skin, I love my complexion,’ she affirmed. ‘And I’m not going to ever do anything to change that.’

The actress emphasized that her skin transformation was an unintended consequence of her pursuit of healthier skin, not a deliberate attempt to alter her appearance. ‘I wasn’t trying to do anything other than just take care of myself,’ Good said.

Meagan Good’s openness about her skincare journey and the resulting backlash serves as a reminder to the Black Cosmopolitan community to be cautious of quick judgments and to approach discussions around beauty and identity with nuance and empathy.
