Michael Jackson‘s biopic ‘Michael’ could be split into two parts, according to new reports.

The hotly anticipated project, which is being powered by Lionsgate domestically and Universal Pictures internationally, has been set for release on October 3. This, after being shifted from its original March 2025 landing.

Now, another shift is reportedly nigh.

According to Deadline, the Antoine Fuqua-directed project is likely to be split into two parts, which will impact its current release date.

Per sources close to the eagerly anticipated flick, a combination of the serializing of the film, as well as tweaks due to legalities, could see the shift to a new release date actualized.

There are murmurs of a 2026 release, as well as a potential arrival this holiday frame in time for award season.

Jaafar Jackson, MJ’s nephew and Jermaine Jackson’s son, leads in the title role. Other key castings include Coleman Domingo as Joe Jackson and Nia Long as Katherine Jackson.
