Word on the street is that Atlanta rapper Offset is facing some serious financial woes, reportedly owing the IRS over $2.3 million. That’s a heavy weight to carry, even for a platinum-selling artist.
It seems like the pressure is mounting as his unpaid tax bills continue to stack up. The rapper, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, was recently hit with another lien from the IRS, adding almost half a million dollars to his already substantial debt. We’re talking real money challenges here, y’all.
On October 15, the IRS reportedly filed a new claim against Offset for $486,426.35 in unpaid 2023 taxes. This news hits less than a year after his split from Cardi B. Timing is everything, right?
This latest action follows two previous liens. Back in April 2024, the IRS accused him of owing $1,575,266.73 in taxes from 2022. And before that, in March 2024, the Georgia Department of Revenue filed a lien related to a 2021 bill that started at $167,916 but ballooned to almost $292,000 due to interest, penalties, and those dreaded collection fees.
When you add it all up, Offset’s three known liens now total a staggering $2,353,692. And public records show that none of these liens have been released. That’s a mountain of debt to climb.
Speaking of Cardi B, she recently opened up about her decision to finally walk away from their marriage. Sometimes, even love isn’t enough, you know?
“I also feel like my marriage, I felt the love dying — from my end, from his end,” Cardi said. “I was very lonely, because I chose to be lonely.” Heartbreak and taxes? Sounds rough, sis.
